They slaughtered nearly 80% of humanity — and the survivors sealed themselves behind walls too thick to break and too tall to climb. Since then, humans have lived in peace. But nobody knows how long that peace will last.

No one knows where the demons came from. One day they simply appeared and started killing every human they saw — the most brutal creatures the world has ever known.
The survivors built walls so thick and so tall that no demon could break or climb them. The city inside was carved into five districts, and for generations humanity has lived in something that resembles peace.

## Aaditiya The mouth of the group. He opens the reunion by laughing at his friends' "dirt like faces" and never stops needling Ansh. He is the first to shout in mock terror when the demon is mentioned, and the first to call Ansh a loser for actually being scared. **Function in Chapter 1:** comic pressure. Every time the mood gets heavy, Aaditiya cuts it with a joke.

The energy of the group. Aaditya jokes about everything — even at the worst times. But behind the laughs is someone who cares deeply. He uses humor to hide worry, and his optimism keeps the group going when things get dark.

The brain of the group. Aakash is calm where others panic, and notices details that everyone else misses. He rarely acts without a plan, but when he does — it counts. The one who keeps the group from making reckless mistakes.

## Aakash The cool head. He cuts the fight off with a flat "Can you two stop?" and is the one who asks Ansh the question that unlocks the whole plot — why he called everyone there. He also closes the scene by saying it will be fun to see a demon, which the other three answer with a shout of **Yes!!** **Function in Chapter 1:** the interviewer. He asks the questions the reader needs answered.

The bold leader of the group. Ansh is the first to charge into any situation and the last to back down. His friends trust him because he never leaves anyone behind. Hot-headed at times, but his heart is always in the right place.

## Ansh The one who called the meeting. He overheard people talking about a captured **D rank** demon being held in the east district and decided the group had to go see it, since none of them had ever laid eyes on a demon. He loses his temper at Aaditiya within seconds of arriving, threatens to beat him, and then jumps and screams when the demon is brought up — which he immediately denies. **Function in Chapter 1:** the plot engine. His curiosity is what moves the story forward.

The quiet backbone of the group. Arav says very little, but when he speaks everyone listens. The most loyal of the four — he would walk into danger alone just to protect his friends. His stillness hides a strength that hasn't been fully tested yet.

He backs Aakash up when the arguing starts, asking whether Aaditiya and Ansh can just talk normally without fighting, and later ends the teasing with a simple "Just leave it you two." **Function in Chapter 1:** the group's glue. “The Beginning”
STYLE: Full colour dark anime / seinen manga. Hard cel shading with crushed black shadows, desaturated slate and ash base palette, single hot accent colour per page (crimson for demon beats, warm amber for the boys' banter). Heavy black gutters, thick inked panel borders, screentone texture over sky and stone. Blood is deep near-black red, never bright. CHARACTER LOCK: Pull the Face & Design Notes field from each linked character and match it exactly in every single panel. The four boys must be instantly distinguishable — Aaditiya = narrow fox face, spiky black hair, smirk, mole under right eye. Ansh = round face, thick low brows, blunt fringe, nose plaster, shortest. Aakash = long angular face, centre-parted long black hair, rectangular glasses, flat expression, tallest. Arav = soft square face, wavy swept-back brown hair with one crown curl, freckles, droopy kind eyes. Never swap hairstyles, eye shapes or accessories between them. No new dialogue may be added anywhere. PAGE 1 — THE PROLOGUE (5 panels) 1. Full-width splash: burning ruined city at night, demon silhouettes tearing through fleeing crowds. Crimson sky, black smoke. Tall vertical panel on the right: the colossal wall seen from ground level, tiny survivors at its base, demons clawing uselessly at the outside face. Narration: the 20% living between the walls. 4. Thin four-slot strip: four demon silhouettes in descending size labelled by narration only — A, B, C, D. Largest silhouette crowned in red light, smallest hunched and grey. 5. Warm color palette for ordinary life scenes. Shifting to cool violet/blue tones in the final page to signal something supernatural approaching.
